Diwali Gift Guide 2022

Are you ready to celebrate. . . Diwali? The five-day Festival of Lights, Diwali commemorates the victory of good over evil, and those who celebrate adorn themselves in their finest clothes and jewelry.

BuDhaGirl hand-selected some of our favorite pieces inspired by each day of festivities. What better way to find the perfect gift for your significant other, a friend, a co-worker, or even yourself?

Day 1: Dhanteras is dedicated to worshiping Dhanvantari, the God of health and Ayurveda. It marks the beginning of the celebration. Homes are cleaned and rangolis are created welcoming loved ones.
An offering of gold or silver jewelry is purchased to be placed in pujas and the windows of the home are left open welcoming Goddess of wealth Lakshmi in abundance. Homemade sweets are also prepared because… what's Diwali without sweets!

Start the day with our Gold or Silver Tzubbie bangle bracelet, adding a bit of tradition to your wristscape. Layer on our Chocolate Three Kings AWB® bangle bracelets for women for a delectable touch of sweetness and our Champagne AWB®, for a beautiful sparkle that will light the sky on the darkest nights.

Day 2: Choti Diwali is sometimes called "Small Diwali." This day celebrates the mythological legend of Lord Krishna's defeat over Narakasur. People begin to prepare their clay lamps for the following day- Diwali.

Make a statement with our Coral Krishna enamel bangle bracelets which give the perfect pop of color. Strengthen your virtues with our Valentina Wrap Bracelet and finally remain in gratitude with our divine Mala beaded bracelet, Bianca.

Day 3: Lakshimi Puja is the primary celebration day of Diwali, a day of worshipping the Goddess of wealth. Lakshimi. Every city, town and village will be lit with thousands of colorful oil Diyas illuminating the dark with light. Children with fireworks can be seen happily celebrating throughout the region. Families gather to enjoy a feast and pray asking Lakshimi for her blessings of abundance.

Guide your Diwali ritual with our Gold All Weather Bangle Bracelets for women, adding our noble Amethyst Luxe AWB® for protection, highlighted by our regal enamel and Gold Veda bangles in Amethyst creating the best combination of Diwali glam for your wrist.

Day 4: In Hindu tradition, Govardhan Puja is considered New Year's Day. The day is spent in gratitude to Shri Krishna for his defeat over Lord Indra. Gifts are exchanged among friends and loved ones, a practice believed to bring love and prosperity to our lives. Praise is also given to Govardhan Hill for its divine protection.
Capture the essence of Govardhan Hill's green terrain with BuDhaGirl's Frond All Weather Bangles®. The ombre gradience of our Fawn AWB® mirrors the sunsets of Govardhan Hill, and finally our Jade 3 Kings bangle bracelets for women, fitting for any occasion.

Day 5
: The final day of Diwali, Bhai Dooj celebrates sibling bonds, and sisters perform a ritual of protection for their brothers. According to Hindu mythology, after Lord Krishna's victory over Narakasura, his sister welcomed him home with sweets and flowers. Traditionally brothers will visit their sister's home for a meal presenting her with a gift. The sister will initiate a puja of worship, a prayer of protection.

Share in the sibling love with our Sari tote (perfect for your sister’s BuDhaGirl bangle bracelets). For glam on the go, choose our Canvas Pochette in Bronze Metallic, and lastly keep your bond strong with our BuDhaHomme Metal Link Bracelets… because your brother deserves it.

Although Diwali is a Hindu holiday, it is celebrated by more than a billion people globally. It is a celebration rich with love and tradition, a beautiful display of how we all can come together overcoming darkness with our individual light.

Wherever you’re celebrating, BuDhaGirl wishes you a safe and happy Diwali 2022.
